A comparison between conventional cleaning with quaternary ammonium/ benzalkonium chloride disinfectants with a regime based on HOCl in two gastro-intestinal ambulatory surgeries. HOCl use was found to be significantly more effective in disinfection than conventional procedures. HOCl terminal misting of the rooms gave further significant improvements in disinfection effectiveness.
