Abstract
The COVID-19 pandemic has heightened the risk of virus spread in dental offices due to droplets and aerosols from high-speed tools. Current cleaning methods aren't fully effective. This study found that 100 ppm of hypochlorous acid (HOCl) can quickly and safely destroy viruses like SARS-CoV-2, influenza (H1N1), and herpes (HSV1) in 30 seconds. Using HOCl in dental waterlines during procedures can protect dental staff and patients from harmful viruses.
