Abstract
A clinical comparison of the effectiveness of hypochlorous acid in comparison with chlorhexidine (a commonly used antiseptic in dentistry) against a number of gum disease bacteria in post surgical care. HOCl improved periodontal healing. HOCl also showed an impact in reducing the recolonization of periodontopathic bacteria in the postoperative period without adverse events or toxicity. Further studies on appropriate HOCl concentrations are suggested.
