Abstract
HOCl has dual roles: as a microbicidal factor in immunity and a global water disinfectant. Its properties determine its reactivity with proteins, lipids, and nucleic acids, crucial for immunity and anti-inflammatory therapy. Recent studies show HOCl’s potential in preventing UV-induced skin cancer, highlighting its significance in nonmelanoma skin cancer prevention.
